Although it has been more than three years since Detroit Become Human shipped back in 2018, developer Quantic Dream since remains quiet on its plans for the firm’s next major release. Since, the team through its minor stake buyout from NetEase has delivered its three latest titles to PC – Heavy Rain; Beyond Two Souls; Detroit Become Human. However, there’s more than game’s for the French developer’s playbook.

Previously, Quantic Dream stated ambitions to become a namely independent game studio despite previous publishing agreements with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The plan was said to evolve into a “boutique publisher” in long-term. It was not until February 2020 that Quantic Dream announced to be full independent with plans to self-publish fairly soon.

But in a new claim from known leaker @_Tom_Henderson_ on Twitter, he suggests that the developer is working on a new Star Wars project. In that, he visualizes the claim with a photo of Detroit Become Human’s Connor with light sabers across the image. You can view it below:

Even more, PlayStation-oriented outlet DualShockers explains that atop of another statement from former video game journalist that goes by Gautoz on YouTube, it also echoes a similar story. From sources familiar with the project, Disney & Sony Interactive Entertainment has signed an agreement for the project with Quantic Dream involved in working on the project.

On the surface, it appears to be a likely story seeing the number of new IPs underway since the forming of Lucasfilms Games. First was the announcement shortly after the banner which revealed The Division’s Massive Entertainment is organizing together an open-world RPG set within the universe. The more recent evidence of such is Aspyr Games’ involvement with the new Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake on the way now.

With the latter being a PlayStation 5 exclusive, it does also align with the claims. Howbeit, what is questionable is the developer being involved in such a project after multiple statements to self-publish and independently work on a new project. So for its first game after going rogue to be with PlayStation does seem odd to say the least.

What are you hoping to come to fruition on the report?
