Midway’s 1986 arcade game Rampage has just got a trailer for its upcoming live-action film.
Staring Dwayne (the Rock) Johnson as the protagonist, he befriends a gorilla early on until it was later exposed to some sort of alien chemical that makes the gorilla continuously grow. As the government takes interest and studies this new chemical, they soon find out that there was more than one animal that made contact with it. A wolf and teased at the end of the trailer, a crocodile. Now they must figure a way to stop these monsters while save the once friended Gorilla.
With this film adaptation being the first sign of a story touching Rampage, it will be interesting seeing how it will play out for the series as the last game released was back in 2006. Possibly bring the game back as this specific genre lacks in today. With Warner Bros. owning the rights to the series after buying Midway Games back in 2009, there is always a chance that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment could take on the series.
Rampage has a release date for April 20, 2018.
