On the on month anniversary of Rockstar Games’ recently released Red Dead Redemption 2, the developer announced that the awaited online portion of the open world western will be coming as soon as this week.
Rockstar promises a thriving open world from the vast wilderness to the populated cities we are already familiar with in the game’s story mode. When entering multiplayer we will be faced with over an handful of activities to either do alone or with friends such as doing missions, hunting, or just explore the wide map with your posse. Character customization will be present along with a camp system that players will be able to use as their own social hub when taking a break from the action.
The beta will be starting today on November 27th exclusively to owners of the game’s Ultimate Edition. Following tomorrow for those who purchased the game on launch day for November 28th to access the beta. Players who obtained the game between October 26 – 29 will have access to Red Dead Online the day after on November 29th. And lastly, all owners of the game will have access to the beta on November 30th. Rockstar Games has not specified when the beta actually ends though, which is pretty important to those who might be joining the fun later than others.
The studio also explains in the blog post that they will be looking towards the community for feedback on the playtest as this is only a beta. Using the data to better the experience coming to the online’s official debut. Reflecting back on GTA Online, a beta is much needed seeing how long it took to give a smooth playing experience for those eager to play with their friends in Los Santos.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
