Red Dead Redemption 2 Asks PC Players For A 150 GB Minimum

Almost a week ago publisher Rockstar Games announced that last year’s highly anticipated Red Dead Redemption II will finally be hitting the PC side of the gaming market next month. And while patient fans are still trying to process the announcement from the company, Rockstar today released the requirements to play their latest action western title for PC.

Biting right into the juiciest side of the apple, Rockstar announced that PC players will need at least 150 GB of space to play the 2018 Game of the Year nominee. Here are the full list of minimum specifications for the upcoming platform debut:

  • OS:  Windows 7 – Service Pack 1 (6.1.7601)
  • Processor:  Intel® Core™ i5-2500K / AMD FX-6300
  • Memory:  8GB
  • Graphics Card:  Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD Radeon R9 280 3GB
  • HDD Space:  150GB
  • Sound Card:  DirectX compatible


Atop of the minimal requirements asked to run the game, Rockstar shared that additional feature will be coming to the PC version as well thanks to the capabilities that can be reached. Specific game changing aspects such as HDR support that was initially exclusive to the Xbox One X version of the game and 4K support for high-end monitors. Of course, in contrast to its console counterparts the PC version can also capitalize on higher framerates, increased draw distances, improved global illumination, and more detailed texturing for plants & animals.

Rockstar Games also reveals that the PC version will introduce new in-game items to the single player portion of the title with three new bounty hunter missions, two gang hideouts, four horses with three additional variations, the “To The Ends of The Earth” mission, two treasure maps, five trinkets, and four weapons.

A timed promotion also kicked off today as Rockstar announced that those who pre-purchase Red Dead Redemption II will also receive two games of choice from the Rockstar Launcher library: Bully: Scholarship Edition, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Max Payne 3: The Complete Edition, and A. Noire: The Complete Edition.

Red Dead Redemption II will be hitting PC on November 5, 2019.
