Seattle-based developer Hardsuit Labs announced back in March that the team will be pursuing the long-awaited sequel to Troika Games’ 2004 title Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines. Although fans who have waited over nearly two console generations will not have to wait much longer, the team shared that the game is slated for a Q1 2020 release date early next year.
However, due to certain issues during the game’s development process, Hardsuit Labs’ CEO Andy Kipling and Writer Brian Mitsoda unfortunately announced that to bring the best experience possible for the game were left to push the game’s release later into 2020 than expected.
Today, we have to tell you that we need some more time to get you the game you’ve been waiting for. Although Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will still launch in 2020, we have decided to value quality over making the Q1 launch window.
On the lighter side of this saddening reveal, the two discussed that the team would have more time to work on out some of the finer details in the game that initially plagued the first title. Although not specifically mentioning which issues, there is still a lot of room for the studio to properly squash any bugs that is currently living within the development. Alongside Mitsoda who was originally involved with the first title, he is essential to overcoming what kept the first installment from being a perfect game.
Closing out the blog post, they also thank those who have been leaving feedback during the game’s development and shares to be creating a Reddit thread following the recent announcement for those to ask questions that might have been left unanswered.
Will you be fine waiting the extra few months leading up to the sequel’s release?
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will be available in 2020 for Xbox One ,PlayStation 4, and PC.
