Although Ubisoft so far this fall went on to deliver Far Cry 6 alongside Riders Republic more recently, some of its planned releases for this year are not arriving until 2022. Previously, the publisher alongside developer Ubisoft Montreal announced that originally scheduled Rainbow Six Extraction for this September is instead aimed to launch in January. However, that is not the only setback for an Ubisoft project.
Additionally, Ubisoft announced that its new initiative with the Rocksmith IP, Rocksmith+, is now aimed to release next year too. The new project is to deliver an expansive learning experience for acoustic instruments and is said to be delivered for mobile and console. Not only that, but Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is left undated for its release last noted by the developer.
Recently, Ubisoft held its recent earnings call revealing that some properties are being pushed into the next fiscal year. Those being both The Division Heartland and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Rocksmith+ and Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland will be released in 2022-23. While still expected in the current fiscal year, Roller Champions is no longer factored in the guidance.
Already, it was presumed for the push to the next fiscal year from Ubisoft San Francisco with Rocksmith+ after the delay. Similarly, the information for The Division Heartland in nothing too different already being scheduled for 2022 as well. Not too long before, Massive Entertainment sent out emails for closed testing for the free-to-play project. So the full launch is no surprise to be suggested for a release next fiscal year.
Atop of that, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still left without any indication as to when it will be arriving. For a push to the next fiscal year is certainly a given. The developers for the game did address in a tweet development is still proceeding accordingly. “We want to take a moment to reassure you that development for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is still underway, motivated and inspired by your feedback.”
Most interesting is the nod towards Roller Champions. While still aimed for this fiscal year (until the end of March), there is no certainty for that it appears. As worded in the document, the game is “longer factored in the guidance” which is odd to see.
Are you surprised by the decision for coming Ubisoft titles?
