Splinter Cell fans have been waiting for the next entry in the series and during the past few years talks and rumors had started back up. It’s been seven years to be exact when Splinter Cell: Blacklist released which was on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii U.
The talks of a new Splinter Cell have heated up again after an interview between Luca Ward (who voice acted Sam Fisher in the Italian version in four of the six mainline games) and an Italian site, Multiplayer.it. According to Luca, it’s a fact that there is a new Splinter Cell in development and it could be releasing in 2021.
Luca went on to say this:
“There is this return of Splinter Cell which should take place I think for a conclusive episode, but I’m not sure about this, however they have not yet figured out whether to do it in 2021. Before it had to be 2020, then what happened and in 2020 several big projects got stuck. Others went on like Cyberpunk 2077 on which I have almost finished working. ”
“But I am sure that Splinter Cell will return, this is a fact “,
Due to the impact of COVID-19, this apparent new Splinter Cell was put on hold and will most likely pushed to 2021. The coronavirus has put a brief delay on other projects that were supposed to release in 2020, but it’s safe to say many of these said projects will launch in a year or so.
With news like this it is better off that you take it with a grain of salt, but it wouldn’t be shocking to see Ubisoft release a new Splinter Cell game for the next generation. In 2018 Rectify Gaming had heard from inside sources that Microsoft had marketing rights to multiple games that included Splinter Cell.
