This week, it will mark three months since Fortnite combating Apple’s App Store policy. Back in August, it was revealed that due to Epic Games reducing the price of V-Bucks to evade the 30 percent charge on iOS devices, the firm later found the battle royale being removed from the App Store. Even more, the same also occurred on Google Play as well during that time.

The instance was then pushed to the courts as Epic Games planned to sue Apple for unlawfully removing Fortnite from the platform. And while the case is still underway, there are reports telling that the game is already on its way to return to iOS in a different form. According to BBC, Nvidia GeForce Now is the doorway for Fortnite’s return to Apple products.

It is told that the service can be the loophole Epic Games needs in returning Fortnite to iOS. That is primarily due to the service being a browser-dependant application and would not be processed through the App Store as Fortnite was initially. But despite sources, Nvidia denies the claims.

Fortnite is not confirmed for GeForce Now on platforms beyond PC, Mac and Android. Nvidia is not commenting on any new clients coming to the service, or on the availability of any game on unannounced or unreleased platforms.

But while things are definitely uncertain for Fortnite despite what BBC reports, browser-based apps could be just what developers/publishers needs for their titles. Previously, it was reported that xCloud and Stadia could make way for the platform now that the App Store policy has been readjusted to allow the approach to be practiced on iOS devices.

The opportunity is even enough for Phil Spencer to be determined in bringing xCloud to iOS. In a closed door meeting, Spencer is told to be ambitious in bringing xCloud to iOS by 2021 next year. ā€œWe [xCloud] absolutely will end up on iOS,ā€ Spencer tells employees during the meeting. Do you think Fortnite will return to iOS?

Fortnite is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
