The long awaited third installment for the Kingdom Hearts franchise released almost a month ago, and it seems more content will is already in the works for the coming future which includes a new difficulty mode and even a story DLC expansion.
In a recent interview with Dengeki Online, Kingdom Hearts Game Director Tetsuya Nomura revealed to the Japanese website that the title’s Critical Mode is absent from the game, but that it will be expected to drop in a future update. “Critical Mode was not in the original versions, but in the Final Mix versions , so this time we’re going to release it as an update at a later date.”
Tetsuya follows-up on his statement by sharing that though ‘final mix’ versions of the game are planned to release, he also proposes to push as much free content into future client updates that they can take. But also says that paid downloadable content is in his view which will offer “several elements” to the base game.
Paid downloadable content will take a little while to produce, but I would like to finish within the year and have the team move on to its next work.
The Director even touches upon discussion for a fourth title for the franchise, where he says that he is already currently busy with the current project that has him busy until 2020.
