Resident Evil 4 Gets Oculus Quest 2 Version, More Details At Oculus Showcase Next Week

For those that might not be avidly following the current events in regards to Capcom’s plans for Resident Evil, here’s a refresher: the Japanese developer/publisher is preparing to ship its next major installment next month, Resident Evil 8. Namely, the game takes place in rural Europe as Ethan Winters returns to reprise his role as the protagonist. Of course, the monstrosities that defines the genre only evolves in the newest entry.

Aside from the mainline release currently, Capcom is already well on its way with another remake, reportedly. From Video Game Chronicles, Capcom since last April already decided to reenvision 2005’s Resident Evil 4 alike the firm did for Resident Evil 2 & Resident Evil 3. However, plans for Resident Evil 4 appears to be arising on different platforms interesting enough.

During the latest Resident Evil anniversary livestream, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 4 is receiving a dedicated Oculus Quest 2 port. You can watch the segment of the virtual presentation in the video below:

Adding on, there oly happens to be a brief snippet in regards to the version for Oculus’ latest virtual reality headset. But, Capcom concludes by disclosing that more of the game will be featured at the approaching Oculus Showcase taking place next week. Although the Facebook subsidiary has yet to unveil the official lineup, this is one title to keep an eye out for now.

Recently, a same-era first-person shooter also received the virtual reality treatment – Doom 3. However, the game did not release for Oculus Quest 2. Instead, the 2004 release shipped uniquely to PlayStation VR. You can read the full report by heading here.
