Today marking the first day since the closure of this year’s annual PAX West event hosted in Northwestern Seattle, developer Respawn Entertainment took no notice to that and did an abrupt announcement revealing the next event that will be dropping in Apex Legends‘ King’s Canyon. Announcing that a new addition will be coming to the game’s only map that resides just beneath the surface of the current landscape.
Apart of the Voidwalker Event, this new limited-time content addition will be focusing on the backstory of Wraith and her coming to be one of the playable Legends for the game’s roster. As said before, there is a new location that has never before been seen and is now unearthed for players to explore as well as tough through firefights that is inevitable to occur.
Following the events of Project: Wraith, the aftermath of the research facility that lives within the surface of King’s Canyon has been breached which triggers, of course a new location, but also a portal that player can utilize to launch themselves higher than the relaunch balloons that are littered around the map.
The introduction of Voidwalker also debuts the Armed and Dangerous game mode which drops all players with a arsenal centered around sniper rifles and shotguns to complement either play style. However, loot will be more scarce than ever perceived before in previous events with this timed-mode. This event also will launch with a bevy of challenges that will reward players with event-exclusive loot as well as featuring a direct purchase shop that, you guessed it, can directly buy exclusive event items from with in-game currency.
The latest Voidwalker Event goes live today on September 3ed and will be active until Tuesday September 17th.
Apex Legends is out now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
