It has been a good few days since the most recent The Old Ways event for Apex Legends officially concluded earlier this past Tuesday. The limited time experience gave more context to the back story of Legend Bloodhound and introduced a new arena for players to take on flesh hungry prowlers for grand loot in return for taking down their foes. Now Respawn Entertainment has already moved on to the next event for the 2019 battle royale.
Announcing The Battle Armor Event, this instance happens to be the most subtle so far for 2020. While there is no overarching theme this time around, there is a new interesting mode that will take place for the coming two weeks. Announcing the titular game type, players will drop into World’s Edge with a randomly equipped armor matching the other 59 users and with a P2020 at hand. The mode will strip all opposing armor tiers, but batteries and other armor replenishers will still remain.
What is most exciting about the announcement is that this will most likely be the last in anticipation for the now announced Season 5 for Apex Legends. The team has yet to disclose much on the next content season, but has spared detail that Season 4 will be extended one week to properly encapture the duration of the newly announced event.
The Battle Armor Event is just one way we are going to start experimenting with the core gameplay of Apex Legends, and we’re excited to introduce even more twists in Season 5 and beyond.Â
Jason McCord, Apex Legends’ Design Director
Every four days of the event, the armor tier will increase from white to blue to purple and then Evo Armor. When approaching the end of the last armor set is when Season 5 is said to debut; on May 12th. Details on the basis for the next Season has yet to be addressed by Respawn Entertainment as of reporting.
In a interview with Game Informer earlier this month, it was disclosed that Respawn Entertainment is still working towards bridging the gaps between platforms with cross-play for Apex Legends. You can get yourself up to date on the coverage by heading here.
