Through the critically-acclaimed releases of two entries in the Titanfall franchise, spin-off battle royale Apex Legends, and generation-defining with its first installment of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, developer Respawn Entertainment is still found to be in some controversy with its latest release back in November. Upon the arrival for Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, many questioned the file size requirement for nearly 200 GB for a virtual reality game.
Even more, the title in more detail is said to recommend saving approximately 317 GB of your hard drive in preparation for Above and Beyond. And even with the new standards in the age of Call of Duty: Warzone, that is still outrageous. Followed by average reception for the game after its release via Metacritic, it is thought that would be the end for the game.
However, new information is brought to the attention of those following the 2021 Oscars as Respawn Entertainment is being nominated for one. In that, the academy has offered the nomination for ‘Documentary (Short Subject)’ to “Colette” which is featured in Medal Of Honor: Above And Beyond.
The short film documentary as you might expect also goes up against some competition as well. Here are the other nominated short pictures for the category: A Conserto is a Converation (Anthony Giacchino and Alice Doyard), Do Not Split (Anders Hammer and Charlotte Cook), Hunger Ward (Skye Fitzgerald and Michael Scheuerman), and A Love Song for Latasha (Sophia Nahli Allison and Janice Duncan).
While Respawn Entertainment is primarily known for its work with video games, the developer has commented on possibly dipping interest into entertainment previously. Speaking with GamesRadar, Apex Legends director Chad Grenier has hinted some interest in working on a television series for the battle royale if deemed appropriate enough.
