‘Apex Arena’ Uncovered In Recent Datamine

For more than two years now, Apex Legends has stayed true to its formula of a aggressive, first-person shooter battle royale since its debut back in February 2019. And while plenty has changed including limited time game modes that twists the formula of the game, developer Respawn Entertainment has not trailed away from breaking what makes Apex Legends a battle royale.

However, with the game marking its two years since arriving to the masses also introduced a niché nod to what the game studio plans to move to in regards to Apex Legends. In that, game developer Chad Grenier stated that sometime in 2021 will introduce more to the game that is outside the battle royale construct. “And later this year, we’ll launch new ways to play the game that take us beyond battle royale,” he wrote.

Unsure of what Grenier was suggesting, dataminer @biast12 on Twitter shares some tangible footage of what that might be implicating. In a new video, the leaker reveals a glimpse at what is called ‘Apex Arena’ for Apex Legends. You can watch the footage in the video below:

Gathered from the title alone, it is suggested that Respawn Entertainment is planning to pursue a matchmaking-like game mode for Apex Legends. While the title is most associated with being a battle royale, it should also be noted that the developer also conjured the Titanfall series which reeks of innovative multiplayer mechanics for modern shooters.

While it is still unsure when the game mode will arrive, it is for certain we will see more later this year as per the statement from Grenier. Elsewhere recently, @biast12 also discovered footage of what looks to be the long-awaited addition of Titans to Apex Legends. Unannounced Legend Blisk can call in the mecha and the machine acts as an auto-turret. You can read the full report by heading here.
