Entertaining the idea of more PlayStation exclusive releases coming to more platforms is always a topic that many players anticipates to be true. Although the firm has remained rock solid on its stance for unique releases to sell consoles, the firm over the past year has transitioned to opening arms embracing the PC platform. Even more is the firm appears to be slowly establishing its own platform for the peripheral moving forward.
For 2022, the PlayStation company already has two games slated for release on PC. One being the approaching Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection which shipped on PlayStation 5 back in January. Additionally, we just got an announcement this past week sharing Marvel’s Spider-Man alongside Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales are slated to hit PC by this fall as well.
Now in a recent discovery on SteamDB, eagle-eyed fans uncovered what appears to be the first sign for Returnal officially coming to PC. In that, the project codenamed ‘? – Oregon’ is not a dead giveaway. However, what does nod to this being Returnal happens to be the Localization setting revealing the Status Tower listed as ‘Tower of Sisyphus’ which is notable from the Housemarque title.
For fans that are unaware of the Tower of Sisyphus, it is a new experience that was added in a free update to Returnal back in March. The Ascension expansion introduced the tower which pits players against waves of enemies and climbing said tower will progressive become more difficult over time.
However, don’t expect to be where the story ends. Returnal happened to be one of the few games to be listed for PC according to the previous Nvidia GeForce Now leak alongside Horizon Forbidden West & Ghost of Tsushima. Sony in a statement recently told “Going forward, we aim to grow the game business by strengthening our first party software and deploying that software on multiple platforms.” You can read the full report by heading here.
