In this game, you jump into the mind of Damien, a shy and introverted boy, born to a French father and a Japanese mother,  who finds his life turned upside down (Sadly No, not like the Fresh Prince ) when his family moves to Japan,  so the entire family can live with his Japanese grandmother. To cope with his newfound loneliness and adjust to his new home, Damien creates an imaginary hero named “Captain Velvet Meteor” through the power of his infinite imagination.

In the game, players assume the role of Captain Velvet Meteor and help Damien conquer his fears in a tactical adventure, with the help of Damien’s favorite Jump+ characters, including SPYxFAMILY, Hell’s Paradise, Summer Time Rendering, Monster No. 8, HEART GEAR, Slime Life, ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess, and GHOST REAPER GIRL to aid them in their quest to escape the mysterious world and defeat an unknown menace , and also help Damien find himself and adjust to his new home in Japan.

Throughout the game, players will utilize the unique abilities and combos of their Jump+ companions to overcome challenges and defeat enemies on a tactical grid playing area. Each character has their own set of attacks and special moves, allowing for a variety of strategies and playstyles. Players can choose to unleash massive damage on hordes of enemies, or be more strategic with abilities that inflict status effects or knock enemies aside to control the battlefield.

In addition to direct combat, players can also use stealth to gain a combat advantage or avoid monsters altogether. This can be especially useful in certain situations where direct confrontation may not be the best option. Additionally, the game features puzzles that must be solved to progress through the adventure, adding an extra layer of depth and challenge. Between the combination of action, strategy, and problem-solving, the game offers a rich and engaging gameplay experience.

Not only is this game about fighting though, There is also an exploration phase , that allows you to explore Damien’s new home in Japan freely. During this phase you will encounter the various cultural elements that make Damien anxious, such as neighbors and his late grandfather’s portrait , aswell as his pet dog growing aggressive from the stress of changing homes, unknown Japanese dishes being served during meals, and encountering unfamiliar insects during bathtime, and all the other reasons Damien created Captain Velvet Meteor, To overcome these obstacles.

The game offers a good amount of replayability, with an opportunity to Revisit former environments to achieve a higher completion rating or gather previously missed tokens.

Overall, Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions is a well-crafted and enjoyable game that combines action, strategy, and problem-solving in a tactical adventure suitable for players of all ages and skill levels, and helps children learn about overcoming their anxiety.
