In the modern day of competitive and casual gaming, there are a lot of options for players to choose from when it comes to peripherals. That includes controllers for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. It can be overwhelming, and over the last few years, Rectify Gaming has been fortunate to cover some of the biggest brands.
HEXGAMING has released its new Phantom Controller with Adjustable Triggers, which is compatible with PlayStation 5, PC, and Mobile. We had the opportunity to try one out and share our thoughts on it.

Let’s go over some of the key features of the HEXGAMING Phantom Controller:

Inside The Box
The Phantom Controller includes a wealth of content in the package beyond just the controller itself. You will receive a 6-foot USB-A to USB-C cable, a selection of thumbsticks that can be swapped out to suit your preferences, and an Adjustment Tool that allows you to calibrate the joysticks and customize the button arrangement.
Quality & Comfortable
The HEXGAMING Phantom Controller for PS5 is designed for comfort, largely due to the ergonomic grips on the back. The hall-effect thumbsticks also feel high-quality, and I opted for a standard-sized thumbstick from the available options. The placement of the back buttons is ideal for someone like me, and everything else functions as you would expect from a PS5 controller.
The rumble features are just as good as your regular DualSense controller as well, but the added options make this far superior. HEXGAMING made the experience of receiving this controller premium, and the use of it to an extent, is premium.
The design, which I haven’t touched on, is aesthetically great to look at. I chose the Dream Blue color, and it blends so well with the black sticks and buttons.
Performance
The performance of this controller is great. I’ve played a variety of games on PS5 and PC using this controller, from casual experiences of Final Fantasy to sweating it out in Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. If you decide to purchase the Phantom Controller for PS5 and PC, you will definitely have an advantage over your competitors.
The Downside
There are some downsides to this controller. One of my main concerns is that HEXGAMING does not offer software to customize the controller’s layout. Instead, you must use the new Setting Button located on the back of the controller and follow a specific set of patterns to change the functionality of a button or to set up the rear buttons.
To compete with its competitors, having any type of software to remap the buttons on a PC would be beneficial to any consumer who plans on buying this.
Verdict: Is It Worth The Purchase?
The HEXGAMING Phantom Controller is without a doubt designed for premium gameplay and aimed towards the Esports scene. It has all the elements you want to see in a competitive gaming controller. However, in my opinion, this is a steep price for a controller. It’s understandable that it has Hall Effect Sticks, mappable buttons, and extra thumbsticks, but I think the price may scare some people away.
