Over the past few years Riot Games has been doing alot to expand the League of Legends brand in new ways , not only with new game modes like ARAM or spin-offs like Teamfight Tatics or League of Runeterra, but also the Arcane: League of Legends Animated TV series and moving to mobile with Wild Rift. But today where taking alook at the 3rd Instalment in Riots League of Legends spin-off story’s and projects under the Riot Forge Publishing name, with The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story .

Are you ready for an epic new adventure in the world of League of Legends? Well, with the help of Digital Sun, the masterminds behind the wildly popular game Moonlighter, they’ve done just that ! In The Mageseeker , you step into the thrilling world of Demacia, where the Mageseekers reign supreme and magic-users are oppressed. With their power, they can induct and indoctrinate those who dare to use magic, lock them away, or drive them into hiding.

The Mageseeker is a thrilling game that puts players in the shoes of Sylas, a powerful League of Legends champion who has been locked up in the mage-hating Kingdom of Demacia for years. As a spell-stealing mage, Sylas possesses an impressive array of magical abilities that are sure to impress gamers who love to play as powerful and versatile characters. Despite his unjust captivity at the hands of the Mageseekers, Sylas has managed to break free and is now on a mission to liberate his homeland from the clutches of tyranny. Armed with the very chains that once bound him, players must help Sylas take down the Mageseekers one by one, using their wits and cunning to outsmart the enemy and claim victory for the people of Demacia.

Sylas see’s the Mageseekers for the criminals they are, but understands not everyone is ready for the truth, so he must battle formidable foes and align with unforgettable allies, both new and old, in order to uncover the buried secrets of Demacia’s past, and use them to change the course of its future. Demacia is ripe for a revolution, and It’s up to Sylas to put that into action.

As this is a linear, story-based action game, it focus’s very heavily on the writing dialogue during the game and building heavily on in-depth character profiles for each person. Despite the focus on story and character, the game also manages to deliver a top-down action experience that feels perfectly suited to the League of Legends universe. With smooth, responsive controls and a range of exciting combat mechanics, players will find themselves fully immersed in the action as they battle their way through the game.

Your main physical attack swings the chains still bound to Sylas’ arms, This is supplemented with Sylas’ magic, as much like in LoL, the mage can borrow magical attacks from opponents, which Sylas is capable of stealing magic attacks from foes, which have various effects.

Although there are other League characters featured in the game , Sylas definitely is the main character and the only playable one in this game.

And finally the most exciting edition for me , because of the badass statue , the Collector’s Edition !

All in all, The Mageseeker is a great action RPG set in the League of legends universe with a cool 2d Retro game art-style, that shows what Riot Forge is capable of compared to there first two entry’s Hextech Mayhem (A Fast-Paced Rhythm Runner) and Ruined King ( A Turned Based RPG) , and helps build up the hype for Convergence (A parkour-style traversal game) as well as Song of Nunu ( A Single-player puzzle Adventure) which are the next two chapter in the League of Legends Story.
