Trackmania Turbo is a very unique Arcade racing game and has to be one of the best ones I have played. I can compare this game to Trials Fusion, Hot Wheels, and maybe very small parts of Forza. The reason, why I say it’s like Trials, is because you have to get the best score in a track and there are Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals. Trackmania is also the first racer on consoles to have 4 player split screen. Another thing to mention is that they have a feature where 2 players control the same car, it’s pretty difficult.
Here are the controls for the Xbox One controller. I like how it offers two different ways to brake and use the gas.

Gameplay

I’d say the gameplay is very fast and smooth. I like how when you drive on sand, water, or ground you notice a difference, you have to be smart when you’re driving on sand and there is water in the same area because you can end up spinning out pretty bad. Also when you’re playing the turns I’d say involve a lot of drifting skills so when you’re playing frequently you’ll notice.
When you start off the maps are very easy compared to later in the game. As you get further you face obstacles such as big jumps, sometimes there is a part where it turns your engine off. When you get to the levels or “campaign missions” where they put your engine off you have to make sure you have speed because if you don’t you’ll see yourself getting stuck and having to restart which has happened to me plenty of times.
Trackmania Turbo also lets you challenge other players around the world. You can create challenges in either one track or groups from any of your unlocked campaign races or created tracks. You can send them in either Track Style, Duration, or Stunt.
Another element I was surprised by from this game was the music selection,  there is a good amount of music to choose from when you customize your car and you can set to which kind you want it to. Somethings a lot of other racers do not have.

Car Customization

In this game, you’d expect more cars and more options to upgrade your car and such. Unfortunately you can only upgrade the looks of your car and when you do it applies to all the others as well. This is one downfall of Trackmania I have. All the cars have the dune buggy theme to it and you’d expect that from seeing pictures, trailers, etc. One plus side of this though is that you have a lot of options for decals to unlock which I like and you can unlock them by getting further into the game and achieving more gold medals.

Trackbuilder

One thing I love about this game is the trackbuilder and how Nadeo made this. Unlike any other games you see, they have a map builder but they don’t have a difficulty with it. I found this very interesting, Trackmania has a beginner, normal, or advanced mode. In the beginner mode, you have very little variety to build from hence why it’s the beginner mode the game makes its aesthetics after you validate it unlike in Advanced mode you have access to everything in the game. Not only that they have different times of days for each map such as night, day, or they can set a random mood for you.
You have 4 different environments to choose from, Arena, Lagoon, The Valley, or the Canyon Grand Drift. The sizes of these maps are pretty big.

Maps

One thing I love about the in-game maps is the aesthetics. In a game like this, I didn’t expect it to look so nice such as the small stuff such as blimps, water, canyons, etc.
Not only do they look nice they play well and almost feel realistic. The in-game maps they used are maps you can custom build in the Trackbuilder mode or at least that’s what it seems like.

Achievements
This game is pretty good with its achievements most of them you can boost for except for the medal ones which is why I rate it at a medium.

Online multiplayer I haven’t gotten to test since not many people are on the servers but I will provide an update on that later on. The game is a terrific arcade racer, the way it makes you feel when you’re playing such as the start screen “insert coin” feel like you’re in an arcade. If you’re a fan of time trials in racers this is definitely a game for you to buy.
The pricing may be a little high in my opinion I would have thought it’d be in that $25-30 dollar range. Other than that I think it’s a great game to play.
