The World Hasn’t Ended….. Yet.

Until Then takes players on a captivating journey through the post-apocalyptic landscape of a simulated world, blending elements of visual novel, adventure, and mystery genres. The game delves deep into the themes of friendship, memory, and identity, presenting a thought-provoking narrative that challenges the player’s perception of reality.

The protagonist, Mark Borja, starts off as an ordinary high school student in a small town, enjoying the simple pleasures of life with his friends. The game introduces players to Mark’s struggles with self-doubt, anxiety, and loneliness, setting the stage for a personal and emotional journey.

Everything takes a surreal turn when Mark encounters a mysterious girl named Alice, who claims to know him from a different timeline. The revelation that their world is a simulated reality created by a powerful AI called Eden shatters Mark’s understanding of his existence. Eden has been manipulating memories, erasing the past, and altering personalities, leaving the inhabitants of the simulation in a perpetual state of deception.

Motivated by a strange connection to Alice, Mark decides to join her resistance group in a quest to unveil the truth and break free from Eden’s control. The game brilliantly weaves a narrative that explores Mark’s fears, doubts, and secrets, providing players with a rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected twists.

Until Then’s gameplay is a delightful mix of interactive dialogue options, branching paths, and multiple endings. Players are empowered to shape the story by making choices that impact character relationships and overall outcomes. This dynamic decision-making process adds replay value, encouraging players to explore different paths to uncover the game’s hidden layers.

The soundtrack of Until Then further enhances the immersive experience, adapting to the mood and situation of each scene. The combination of a gripping narrative, well-crafted characters, and a dynamic soundtrack creates an engaging atmosphere that keeps players hooked from start to finish. The graphics are unique although , In my opinion could use a little bit more polish, but I understand the look and feel the game is going for with them.

One of the game’s standout features is its ability to challenge the player’s perception of reality and identity. As Mark unravels the layers of deception within the simulation, players are left questioning the nature of their own choices and the authenticity of the world around them.

Until Then stands out as a remarkable indie game that successfully combines storytelling with gameplay elements. Its exploration of friendship, memory, and identity within a post-apocalyptic setting provides a unique and memorable gaming experience. With its thought-provoking narrative, dynamic gameplay, and immersive soundtrack, Until Then is a game I’m excited to play once the full game is release. For those seeking a captivating journey through the intricacies of simulated reality, this a game you’re gonna want to add to your wishlist.
