Summary
Vendetta Forever creates its own path while channelling the core of Superhot VR and offers a stylish, fast-paced action experience. The slow-mo action keeps the gameplay interesting, and the imaginative level design presents many unforgettable events. The lack of narrative continuity and the sometimes demanding difficulty, however, can sap some of the excitement. Notwithstanding these little flaws, the game’s pick-up-and-play style and great repeatability make it a good addition to the Meta Quest 3 collection.
Though it may not reinvent the wheel, Vendetta Forever polishes it to a shine and provides a puzzle-shooter hybrid that is both demanding and gratifying. This VR title is worth looking at if you’re in the mood for fast, adrenaline-pushing action with a strategic edge.

I couldn’t help but draw comparisons between the Vendetta Forever trailer and masterpieces like Superhot VR and Pistol Whip when I first saw it. Promising rhythm-based action mixed with deliberate gunplay, the elegant, slow-motion combat looked like a mash-up of both. But once I started diving in, I found it was not quite the hybrid I expected. Although it has some of the colorful flair we’ve seen from Pistol Whip, that’s really where their similarities end. This is not a rhythm shooter and with a focus on accuracy and timing, the gameplay instead mostly leans toward the puzzle shooter Superhot VR. Is it better than its now aging competitor? Let’s find out!
Gameplay and Mechanics
Vendetta Forever reduces everything to the very minimum. Showing you the ropes in seconds, one of the fastest tutorials I have seen throws you directly into the action. Starting each level with a weapon—sometimes as simple as a pencil or as extravagant as a whip—you quickly kill enemies, then grab their weapon mid-air to keep the chain going. This is the central gameplay mechanic. As you teleport from enemy to enemy, executing stylish kills, the fluid, and exciting motion makes you feel like an action hero. You’re basically John Wick in VR!
There is a drawback, though: this is not a game where you can afford to make mistakes. The levels are meant to be fast and merciless; missing a grab or mistiming a shot nearly ensures failure. The attack chain is unrelenting, thus you are a sitting duck if you find yourself left unarmed. Given that even a minor mistake usually results in certain death and a restart, this rigorous gameplay loop can be both exciting when you achieve success and frustrating if you fail more than once.

Level Design and Variety
The 60 bite-sized missions, which span 20 to 90 seconds apiece, move quickly enough for the understated design. You don’t have time to stop and stare at details so keeping in minimal is a smart choice. Levels range from a chaotic fight on a pirate ship wielding vintage pistols to a nightclub fight where you dispense enemies with a pencil. It is amazing and there’s some genuine creativity on show here. However, although the inventiveness is commendable, I couldn’t help but find levels lacking consistency. Unlike Superhot, in which you advance across linked environments, Vendetta Forever leaps from one scene to another without much narrative thread. The jumbled sensation made staying submerged more difficult. I wasn’t expecting a story on the scale of Elden Ring but some kind of narrative thread would have been nice!
Apart from defeating goons, the game occasionally has some original mission objectives like saving hostages or shooting a particular VIP. There isn’t a huge variation on the hit-and-move gameplay mechanics, but the vast range of quick levels keeps things fresh.
Challenges and Replayability
Though it’s a quick game to pick up and play, not every level was designed equally. Some scenes seem off-balance and call for trial and error which might get annoying. For example, one level had me standing in front of a firing squad where some enemies had guns and others had to throw knives, my bullets kept missing, and throwing weapons did not always track correctly. You may come across levels like this where you have to die a few times just to figure out how to succeed, which can be a little off-putting.
The game’s replayability is strong, on the other hand. Online leaderboards give a competitive edge; hidden videotapes across the levels unlock modifiers like “Iron Heart,” which reduces your score but grants damage immunity. With an eye toward improved scores and strategic experimentation, these additions might just inspire you to return to levels over and over again. Vendetta Forever you say?

Presentation and Performance
Vendetta Forever uses a simple aesthetic approach that fits the gameplay rather nicely. The stripped-back looks help to keep the action front and center free from needless distractions. Running smoothly with sharp images and clear lighting effects, the Meta Quest 3 is more than capable of handling all the action smoothly.
Final Verdict
Vendetta Forever creates its own path while channeling the core of Superhot VR and offers a stylish, fast-paced action experience.
