While Ubisoft’s Steep in its own right faced its own praise, developer Ubisoft Annecy went beyond just snowboarding with Riders Republic. Integrating the same extreme sport alongside base jumping, dirt biking, and more brings a whole new level of immersion many were not anticipating the game’s reveal. Howbeit, the game faced ongoing delays in the months following.
It was not until Ubisoft shared October 2021 would be the solidified release for Riders Republic. Even more, a pre-launch test would be available for all players. Not to mention – progress from the playstest would also carry over to the main game which many celebrated at the time. Now, a new sport is being added to the full game.
At Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft Annecy revealed skateboarding will launch for Riders Republic as part of Season 8 on September 26th. You can watch the trailer in the video below:
“Skate is coming to the Republic!” the description for the YouTube video reads. “Expect new tricks and challenges, exclusive customization, a new area to show off your skills and a brand new career progression! Brace for impact as the Ridge will never be the same!” As for other announcements from the show, The Crew Motorfest is prepared to launch in September as well.
Additionally, other fall projected releases includes Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR & The Division Resurgence. Noted, even Netflix anime ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix’ is planning to air around the sametime too. You can read the full report by heading here.
