Rocket League developer Psyonix has said it may announce the game for additional platforms by the end of the year. Currently, the soccer-with-cars indie game is only available on PC and PlayStation 4, where it originally launched as a free PlayStation Plus title as part of a partnership with Sony. In a recent interview with Red Bull Psyonix CEO, Dave Hagewood was asked if the game would ever come to Xbox One.
“I can’t say, We’re looking at all kinds of platforms and there may be some announcements coming up at some point. Hopefully before the end of the year, but I can’t confirm that.”
“Yes, we are definitely bringing Rocket League to additional platforms,” he said at the time. “We’ll have an official announcement of what platforms those are (and when) a little further down the line.” – August 3rd (Marketing VP Jeremy Dunham)
Rocket League has been a big hit this year. The game has passed 5 million downloads across PC and PlayStation 4, selling over than 1 million copies on Steam alone. If Rocket League hits Xbox One in early 2016 it would put the Xbox One in a very good place for gamers.
