Rocket League has been a hit since 2015 while growing to multiple platforms and becoming a premier esport for fans to enjoy. Today, Psyonix announced that Rocket League will be going Free To Play later in the Summer of 2020.
With this there will be in game updates such as refining the main menus to make it easier to explore the game. They are revamping and improving major features like Challenges and Tournaments. Psyonix will be introducing cross-platform progression so if you want to play on Xbox, but have it on your Nintendo Switch the progress from one platform to another won’t be lost.
Rocket League will be releasing on the Epic Games Store on PC at the same time as it goes free to play whenever that is this Summer.
To those who has played Rocket League online before the launch of free to play, you will be rewarded with Legacy status which will include the following:
All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
“Est. 20XX” title that displays the first year you played Rocket League
200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
Golden Cosmos Boost
Dieci-Oro Wheels
Huntress Player Banner
