Back in 2015 with the debut of Rocksteady Studio’s Batman: Arkham Knight, the developer raved about their antagonist being introduced into DC’s Universe through their then newly released title. More recently DC has announced that the Arkham Knight will be appearing in March’s Batman Detective Comic #1000.

This won’t be the first time the antagonist made an appearance in a comic as he was present in the prequel series leading up to the same titled game. What makes the announcement more exciting is that this will be the character’s debut in the Caped Crusader’s main comic series.

Though the Arkham Knight originated from the videogame, it’s also speculated from his look for the upcoming issue that the antagonist might not be completely what we remember him as: which you can view in the image below.

The 1000th issue of the Batman Detective Comic is to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the World’s Greatest Detective and will feature a handful of artist & writes of previous related stories such as Kevin Smith, Paul Dini, Jim Lee, Kelley Jones, and several others.

Batman: Arkham Knight is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
