Rumor: Nintendo Switch will have GameCube Virtual Console support

More Nintendo Switch news and leaks are coming in hot. The latest rumor is that the Nintendo Switch will have GameCube Virtual Console support and it will have games like Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and Luigi’s mansion. According to the sources, GameCube support is already tested and working and those three games were the tested titles.
The number of platforms to be offered on Switch’s Virtual Console has yet to be nailed down, Eurogamer has heard that there should be an upgrade program similar to that available on Wii U.  Nintendo Switch’s Virtual Console is being engineered by (Nintendo European Research and Development) NERD, the studio behind the recent NES Mini micro-console.
They also say that a version of the GameCube Animal Crossing is being tested for release of the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is also looking at Switch support for the Wii U’s GameCube controller adapter peripheral
Nintendo is prepared to drop bombs it seems on January 12th and when the console releases. Fans have been wanting GameCube to come to Virtual Console for a while and it looks like they will get it.
