Ukrainian Developer GSC Game World earlier this year following months of radio silence showcased the first in-game rendered image of the highly-anticipated S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. In that, the firm spared that more details regarding the upcoming sequel will be unveiled in the coming months as the successor to its titular 2007 will be shipping in 2020.
Surprisingly, the game made an appearance during today’s Xbox Games Showcase unveiling a first, in-depth trailer sharing more of the game’s new project. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“With S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, we want every player to have a unique playthrough. It will take much more than just A-Life 2.0 to do that, as you are the author of your story,” GSC Game World PR Specialist Zakhar Bocharov shares on the coming project. “Putting aside the scale, the decisions you make will cause not only short-term outcomes, but influence the world itself. We are crafting an epic, branching story culminating in lots of different endings. You’ll have to make tough choices regularly — and be brave enough to face the consequences.”
In addition to the reveal for the game for the next-generation of console hardware, Microsoft has also confirmed that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Will be shipping uniquely to Xbox Series X when the console arrives later this holiday season. “Xbox Series X makes a good match for these ambitions. With no compromises needed, the power of Microsoft’s next-gen console compliments GSC Game World’s first-ever console announcement perfectly.”
We are also happy to have our game come to Xbox Game Pass on day one: all the new gamers out there can have a taste of what we make, fall in love with our universe.” Microsoft has also disclosed that the coming title will also feature traces of raytracing as well as fully optimized, 4K resolution when the title ships later this year.
