For quite a handful of weeks, speculation continued to surge in hopes that Evil Dead’s Ash Williams would be coming to Mortal Kombat 11. Even actor Bruce Campbell continued to fuel the flames with hopes from fans further prolonging on the hopes of the character. But, the day never came for the fictional character as characters like The Joker & Spawn being added instead of Williams.
However, the character will be in a new game coming out, Evil Dead: The Game. From developer Saber Interactive (World War Z) & Boss Team Games (Cobra Kai: Card Fighter), a new experience based on the titular film & television series is coming out later this year, the original announcement reads from December’s The Game Awards. But, that is not the case moving forward.
As of August 5th, Evil Dead: The Game is now shipping sometime in 2022, according to the official Twitter page for the game. The teams apologize as more work is required to bring the full picture into perspective for the project. You can read the full announcement in the tweet below:

“This additional time is also allowing us to implement a single-player option that will let you enjoy the game when you are without your co-op compadres,” Saber Interactive/ Boss Team Games includes in a second tweet at the time. Currently, there is no details as to when the game will officially launch outside of the generalized release window aimed for next year.
Outside of Evil Dead: The Game, Saber Interactive is also occupied with a new project over at Crytek. In that, the team is currently underway with developing Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Already shipping Crysis Remastered, the team plans to bundle the game with Crysis 2 Remastered & Crysis 3 Remastered later this fall. You can read the full report by heading here.
