Saints Row Movie Underway With Fate Of Furious Director On Board

Many that have been sitting on Volition waiting for the next Saints Row installment going back to 2013 with Saints Row IV. It looks that we will be getting something related to the open-world title in the future, but it isn’t a game.

According to a report from IGN recently, a film based on the series is in motion to be adapted for the big screen with Fate of the Furious Director F. Gary Gray to take the role to direct the coming movie. Which many can argue to be a fitting position for Gray seeing the parallels between the 2017 movie to Volition’s IP.

Discussion of what the film’s plot will follow or which characters from the series to make an appearance have not been shared. The movie is detailed to be in early development, meaning that a script has yet to be written and actors have not been picked for the film either. Greg Russo who is currently writing the script for the coming Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat reboot films has also been selected to write the screenplay for the Saints Row flick.

Gray is currently working in post-production for this year’s Men in Black: International which is coming to theaters at the beginning of the Summer. Assuming that more will unravel for the newly announced film adaptation to come after.

In other Saints Row news, Volition’s 2011 title Saints Row: The Third is dropping on Nintendo Switch later this month on May 10, 2019.

How do you think the Saints Row series will translate coming to film?
