Samsung Announces New Partnership With Microsoft To Incorporate Project xCloud
Users on Xbox’s side of the market are well-acquainted with the currently testing game-streaming initiative Project xCloud. Those who are accepted to test the new feature will be given the ability to play a slew of games directly to your smart phone through Microsoft’s cloud-based technology. Currently, the service is available for those that own Android-based devices, and it looks that Samsung is also getting involved with the service in the new decade. Announced today at the Samsung Unpacked event, the company’s Director of Strategy David Park discussed upcoming partnerships with Google, Netflix, and Microsoft, of course. Disclosing that this new collaboration with the console giant on an unnamed, but familiar service. Park states to be working together on a “premium cloud-based game streaming experience.” Aside from the initial reveal on the agreement between the two companies, no further information was shared. However, a Microsoft spokesperson who spoke with Cnet tells to be anticipating what’s to come from the settlement. We believe players around the world should have access to great, high-quality games on the device of their choice. Working with partners like Samsung is an important step in our Project xCloud journey and will help make game streaming more accessible for gamers. We look forward to sharing more later this year. Amid the exciting reveal that Park made at the presentation, it was also announced that last year’s PC exclusive title Forza Street will be debuting on mobile via the Samsung Galaxy line. Fans who look to pick up the game for Android can do so by pre-registering on either Google Play or the Galaxy Store. Last month, Microsoft dropped a collection of new titles that will be added for Project xCloud testers to play on the go. Of the dozen plus games, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is one that many are extremely eccentric to see available on their mobile device.
