With this week marking the one year anniversary since Sea of Thieves officially launched on March 20th. Rare made a blog post of an upcoming update that will be dropping at the end of next month that will introduce a chest of new content that will be coming to the open-world title.
Leading up to the update’s official debut on April 30th, previews for the new gameplay features will launch to give players a glimpse of what the complete anniversary update will offer for players later that month.
Here is what’s coming in the update below:
The Arena: The first preview kicking off on April 10th will introduce a new mode that pits crews against one another for the objective to earn the most loot.
The Hunter’s Call: Later on April 16th, a new titular trading Company will appear which will bring players a new source of progress towards leveling up.
Tall Tales – Shores of Gold: Then on April 23rd, the first piece of story-related content is the last preview that will be coming before April 30th. The new story arc has players “embark on an epic adventure of love, honour and betrayal in search of the mythical Shores of Gold.”
As well as other additional content that will be dropping in the celebration of the game’s first year. Which includes: exclusive commendations & cosmetics, Captain Bones’ Original Pirate Cutlass, Sea of Thieves-themed gamer pics, and even an ‘sing-song’ available on Spotify, Google Play and iTunes.
Players who reached Pirate Legend status before the update drops will receive gold-plated tankard, Hurdy-Gurdy, Blunderbuss, and ship customizations.
