
Earlier in the month, Activision and Infinity Ward sent out a tease leading up to the full reveal of the upcoming second season for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In the brief video show, we see what looks to be the notorious map rust from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 alongside the confirmation of operative Ghost being a new addition as well.
Fast forwarding to this following week, the trailer for the approaching season was posted officially confirming both speculations among sharing more additions that will be included on February 11. You can watch the trailer below:
Of course, the iconic Rust returning in the latest Call of Duty installment will be done with a reworked appearance while still honing true to the structure of the map alike the previously reintroduced maps from Call of Duty 4 last season. Rust will also be a Gunfight variant map. Infinity Ward also revealed a new map that will launch alongside Rust, Atlas Superstore. The location offers close quarter combat thanks to the enclosing store aisles and cramped receiving areas of the store.
Ground War also is receiving a new addition with Zhokov Boneyard. Sharing a handful of similarities to Scrapyard , this open-ended is compiled with debris of destroyed aircrafts and other residing obstacles. The addition of Ghost being a playable operative will also debut today with the Call of Duty League Playlist game mode and the addition of the GRAU 5.56 & Striker 45 weapons.
Moving further in time for the mid-season of season 2, expect to see the [redacted] multiplayer map Khandor Hideout and Bazaar Gunfight map for upcoming vistas. Alongside a bevy of additional game modes like Gunfight Tournaments, Demolition, Gunfight Infection, and NVG Reinforce.
With the commencement of season 2, it looks that Infinity Ward has a little pattern forming with speculation as to what will arrive in the next season later on in 2020. Season one introducing Modern Warfare (2007) maps, two for Modern Warfare 2, and now it is suggested that Modern Warfare 3 could possibly be the next big influence for season 3.
