Second DLC Creeping Winter For Minecraft Dungeons Is Out Now

Following the electric release of Minecraft Dungeons in late May, developer Mojang Studios laid out a roadmap for the two DLCs slated to hit its top-down dungeon crawler later in 2020. With the first, Jungle Awakens, arriving in July only leaves ‘Creeping Winter’ to ship in what is presumed to be early fall as derived from the title.

But it seems that the story expansion for the game arrived earlier than fans predicted as Mojang Studios abruptly revealed this week that the add-on for Minecraft Dungeons is available now. You can watch the launch trailer in the video below:

“A creeping winter is slowly taking over everything it touches, only a noble hero can save these frost-bitten lands! Brave new missions and beat relentless mobs on your journey to defeat the Wretched Wraith at the center of the storm.,” the trailer’s description reads for the expansion. Mojang Studios in a blog post elsewhere describes the new add-on to be the antithesis of ‘Jungle Awakens’ with many of its elements replaced with wintery characteristics.

In addition to the blacksmith helping you upgrade items alongside villager merchants, Mojang Studios also included daily trials to unlock items with higher rare value. Two will be available per day by default with an additional trial depending on how many DLCs you own. The firm also tells that the physical PlayStation 4 version of Minecraft Dungeons will be hitting storefronts in Japan sometime in the coming month.

The DLC runs for $5.99 individually, but users who own the base game will have to purchase the Hero Edition of Minecraft Dungeons if wanting to also acquire the Hero Pass.

In other Minecraft-related news, Mojang Studios disclosed this week that the game will be receiving PlayStation VR support later this month. You can read the full report by heading here.
