Shawn Layden who is President of Sony Interactive Entertainment America and also Chairman of Sony Interactive Worldwide Studios has said that the PlayStation Network hack of 2011 durning which Layden was the Chief Operating Officer at Sony Network Entertainment , took years off his life in an interview with Polygon, here is what he said.
“It took years off my life. I remember the day. If it had to happen to us, I’m glad it happened then, We’ve learned so much from that experience. We were in as good a position as we could be at the time what was, at the time, sate of the art. But we did get hit and we have taken our capabilities in that area to the highest degree possible. So no one is complacent or, ignorant about the dangers and the challenges that are out there but I think we are in a much better place today. We have had our baptism by first.”
Sony in the past few years, since the hack of PSN in 2011 has included HTTPS on all of their services and last year, allowed two step verification which sends a text message to your phone every time you log onto PSN from a new device.
