Shin Migami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remastered Gets Devil May Cry’s Dante With Separate DLC Pack

Last month during the brief Nintendo Direct Mini, developer Atlus announced that the glowing Shin Migami Tensei III: Nocturne would be receiving a modern port to the Nintendo Switch. With the addition of a PlayStation 4 version also underway, this re-release of the 2003 entry will touch up on the graphical appearance of the base game while not tampering with the charm that many grew to love in the original.

Howbeit, one thing that was surprisingly missing from the debut of Nocturne HD Remastered is the guest starring Dante from Capcom’s Devil May Cry. Initially, the prolific demon hunter was included in the following Maniax version that followed the base game as part of a collaborative agreement of the two firms to bridge Shin Migami Tensei with Devil May Cry.

But now, developer Atlus unveils that Dante will in fact be returning. However, he will be available through a separate paid DLC for the game. You can watch the full trailer in the video below:

Elaborating on how Dante will be featured in the Nocturne HD Remastered, Atlus discloses that he will be a skin for a separate character. In that, Raidou Kuzunoha of Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon will be in the base version of Nocturne HD Remastered. Raidou Kuzunoha was initially included in the Chronicle Edition of the original Shin Migami Tensei III.

Titled the ‘Maniax Pack’, players can acquire the add-on and select the “New Game ~ Maniax” on the main menu to re-skin Raidou as Dante. The looped intro film on the title screen is also said to redressed with the updated Dante skin following the user selection the Maniax prompt. Pricing for the Maniax Pack was not disclosed, but is projected to arrive at launch in Japan this fall with presumption to hit western stores next year.

Do you plan on purchasing the Maniax pack for Nocturne HD Remastered?

Shin Migami Tensei: Nocturne HD Remastered is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on October 29, 2020 in Japan and followed by a worldwide launch sometime in spring 2021.
