Today has introduced a slew of new details regarding the approaching lineup from developer Yacht Club Games. Although the team initially conjured the universe of Shovel Knight, the American studio currently shares the property with developer Nitrome on the upcoming Shovel Knight Dig.
The team shared last week that there will be news on the title with more to expand on the current development. Perhaps more light on when fans could expect to play the game? Well yes, except, the game has been confirmed for a launch sometime in the following year in 2021.
However, despite the upsetting news that the title would arrive sometime later this year, Yacht Club Games still disclosed a bevy of new information for the upcoming conjoined project. First off, the company shared a new knight, Hive Knight. Given from the name, Yacht Club Games tells that the newest character can “battle just like an insect.” Additionally, he can also fly in battle which reiterates the core gameplay fans are used to with other knights in the game.
The team also reassures that development is well on its way as they are continuing to tweak the core elements to ensure the best gameplay satisfaction possible. Aspects altered like the items and other power ups that you will stumble upon in the randomly-generated title are mentioned to be a prioritized focus for the team to perfect when working on the game.
In other related news shared today, Yacht Club Games announced that Machanical Head Studios’ Cyber Shadow will be arriving sometime in fall later this year. You can read the full report by heading here.
Are you fine waiting until next year to play Shovel Knight Dig?
