
This year’s E3 only continued to surprise viewers at Microsoft’s annual press conference that week as support for Japanese-developed software was showcased, this time being from Sega with Phantasy Star Online 2. The game initially exclusive to payers on in Japan, the game was later announced to debut in North America via Xbox One and Windows 10 later next year.
Atop of the game also projected to launch on other platforms following the initial release on Microsoft’s platforms, there is a lot to look forward to for fans who have patiently been waiting for this region’s version since the sequel’s announcement back in 2012. Now it looks that first hand impressions for the game is upon us as it was announced today that sign-ups for the game’s beta is available now.
Microsoft discloses that those interested can do so by simply heading over to the Xbox Insider Hub on either console or PC if you are already in one of the tester rings. Checking the Insider Content tab of the application and heading to games should reveal that Phantasy Star Online 2 is available to download now.
However, it should be noted that the upcoming closed beta for the game will strictly be for Xbox One. Microsoft does go on to clarify that those who apply on Windows 10 will being requesting a slot for the PC version which will arrive at a later, unspecified time. Another noteworthy mention is that these betas will only be available in the United States alongside Canada upon arriving. Mentioning of other regions were not shared.
Those who make it into the upcoming closed beta will also be granted a slew of “special rewards” that is only gifted to those who have participated in the exclusive playtests on either console or PC.
