Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight is a highlight for survival thrillers in the gaming industry for its near endless suspense through its online-only medium. Even more, the game holds some icon based off of the featured killers and survivors that make their way to the game since the release of the title back in 2016. Notable additions like Ghost Face from Wes Craven’s Scream is a prime example of the influence the game holds towards utilizing recognized properties.
Now in a new and abrupt announcement trailer uploaded from the Canadian studio, Behaviour Interactive reveals that the next collaborative property will be Silent Hill 2’s Pyramid Head. You can watch the full teaser in the video below:
While the new ’Executioner’ killer shines the light from Silent Hill 2, the upcoming add-on pack for Dead by Daylight plays more like a reflection on the initial trilogy. The new map added comes from the first Silent Hill with Midwich Elementary School, the monstrosity that Pyramid Head is from Silent Hill 2, and the survivor to be posed by Silent Hill 3’s protagonist Cheryl Mason.
“The Silent Hill Chapter also introduces a new map, Midwich Elementary School: the childhood trauma that once took place in its halls has since manifested itself into a twisted, nightmarish design,” the synopsis shared for the Silent Hill Chapter reads. “The new Killer is The Executioner: take control of Pyramid Head and wield his great knife to unleash his twisted brand of punishment on all who cross him.
“The new Survivor is Cheryl Mason, a courageous, outspoken woman who survived the hellish Otherworld of Silent Hill, and exacted revenge on the Order that killed her father. With experience beyond her years, she’s prepared to once again stand against any evil that confronts her.” It has been sometime since we have seen the Konami-owned property and this addition does look to be rubbing fans the right way.
Previously, there were reports that Konami and Sony have been collaborating to resurrect Silent Hills and create an episodic Silent Hill game as well. Howbeit, the claims were later disputed by a representative for the company later on. You can read the full report by heading here.
