For the coming future of Silent Hill, the likeliness of a new installment is nowhere near what many anxious fans convince themselves to think. For the past handful of months, there has been several claims suggesting that the return of Silent Hill is just on the horizon. While the rumor has been offered by a respected source which disclosed accurate information on the then-rumored Silent Hill Village, the same cannot be said for Silent Hill.

In that, Rely on Horror received a statement from Konami North America PR which issued that there are no plans to collaborate with Sony Interactive Entertainment developer Japan Studio to reboot the Silent Hill IP. But while the firm disappointed those who fancied to the rumor, the publisher did elaborate that the franchise is not gone forever.

Regardless of Konami’s statement, many continued to believe that there still is a chance of redemption, even after additional claims were refuted by Kojima Productions on a possible partnership. Now, the possibility for Silent Hill to resurface is virtually unlikely now that key developers at Japan Studio responsible for the franchise depart to form a new team. In a new video uploaded recently, Keiichiro Toyama announces to be creating Bokeh Game Studio.

You can watch the ’A New Chapter’ trailer in the video below:

“First I want to fulfill out fans’ expectations,” Toyama tells in the video. “But at the same time, I want to go back and enjoy how fun it was to make games. I want to share that feeling with the players, this is what I’ll aim for from now on.” Alongside Toyama he is accompanied by Kazunobo Sato and Junya Okura who will be forming Bokeh Game Studio.

Similar to Toyama’s ambitions with the new team, Okura also frames the founding of Bokeh Game Studio to be a fresh start for more creative pursuits with no restraints. “As we turn independent, we have to prepare everything ourselves.” Okura adds, “ It is hard, there are responsibilities, but we have freedom. I want to enjoy creating from now on. That is the most important.”

“We’re now able to focus on creating games,” Sato explains. “I look forward to it, many people we’ve worked with in the past are joining us too. I’m convinced that we’ll be able to deliver something everyone will enjoy” The trailer continues by the trio discussing on concept art which looks to be for a coming horror project. While Silent Hill is still out of the picture, there is the chance the series formed a catalyst for something else entirely.

What are you excited to see com from Bokeh Game Studio?
