Sledgehammer Games held a Q&A on Reddit to engage with fans for two and a half hours answering questions regarding their experience so far and what to expect in the future. The developer did say they will be disabling the Gaia skin in Modern Warfare III temporarily and confirmed Gunfight will launch with six maps in Season 1.
While they did answer many questions, there is one topic that fans are frustrated about and that’s Skill Based Matchmaking which seems to always be a hot topic with new titles. That was one question that Sledgehammer Games seemed to shy away from.
In the AMA thread on Reddit, there are many fans who say they’d even pay for the developer to talk about SBMM in Modern Warfare III.

It’s interesting that Sledgehammer Games has not yet responded to questions. However, this could indicate that they are currently working on a solution and do not have a definitive answer at this time.
