Developer Rebellion is known for taking chances with some of its planned releases. One is the new IP Atomfall. Back in June, the British game studio announced the new IP that explores the English landscape off the coattails of World War 2 as mechanized adversaries and wicked cults inhabit the roaming hills and green vistas of that nation. The game is planned to launch this coming March in 2025.
This week, Rebellion shares plans to explore yet another genre with Speedball. Available now on PC via Early Access, it is an online co-op sports action title. You can watch the new trailer in the video below:
“Speedball is a brand-new entry into the legendary Bitmap Brothers series! In the grim future of 2138, the futuresport is used by mega-corporations to distract the downtrodden masses from their miserable lives,” the preview reads. “Once an underground sport reviled for its brutality, Speedball has risen to unprecedented heights of popularity and profitability.
“It is the only sport that allows two cybernetically augmented teams to go head-to-head at levels of speed and violence beyond human limitations, where any moment could be a player’s last.” Rebellion confirms that the game is planned to welcome a 12-month roadmap with a slew of content ahead of its full release. Word on other platforms was not mentioned in the press release.
This is not the only game recently to welcome a release date; albeit a shadow drop of Early Access. In that, Rebellion revealed Sniper Elite: Resistance is coming next year in January 2025. You can read the full report by heading here.
