Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is planned to hit theaters in 2027

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has just hit theaters worldwide and there has already been confirmation about the next film in the series. In an exclusive report by Variety, Paramount Pictures is already preparing for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 for a Spring 2027 release.

This news comes as no surprise since the first two films combined a global box office total of $725.2 million. Paramount also created the spinoff series, Knuckles, which exclusively released on Paramount+. 

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is expected to top the box office with about $60 million from theaters across North America and could easily be the biggest hit this Holiday season.

No other details such as the plot for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 have been shared yet. It will also remain to be seen who will be in the film. I guess we’ll have to watch Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to have a better idea.
