The past few years for Sonic the Hedgehog have been quite the turn around reflecting on Sonic Boom from 2014 to more recently with Sonic Mania bringing some much needed spunk back to the beloved franchise. Around the same time too it was revealed that a motion picture featuring Sega’s Blue Blur will be coming in the upcoming years, but not much has been expanded on since the news broke.
Recently IGN got the opportunity to reveal the live poster of the forthcoming film, and boy did it leave an impression on fans speculating how Hollywood interprets Sonic into a movie.

The title reads “A whole new speed of hero”, along with revealing the first-look of Sonic’s appearance for the new film. Which is what makes fans question even more than prior to viewing the poster. The blue hedgehog is in a mid-running stance with human-like appendages, breaking away from his more comic appearance from his games and cartoon.
The problem is that Sonic’s body looks too real for viewing, from his arms & legs to the fur covering his body and fleshy skin. If I could predict what’s to come out of this film just from looking at the poster alone: I’m anticipating a scene with Sonic taking his shoes off to show his human-looking feet. The poster even leaves out his iconic gloves and displaying his realistic appeared hands, which I’ll use to support my prediction.
This is a lot to take on for both hardcore fans and casual players all around. Until we get the first trailer for the upcoming film, we are all left bewildered until then.
Sonic the Hedgehog movie currently has no release date confirmed yet, but it was previously confirmed that Jim Carrey will be taking on the role of Dr. Robotnik AKA Eggman.
