Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today they’ve acquired leader in audio technology and developer of gaming headphones, Audeze. This acquisition will strengthen the audio experience when it comes to PlayStation games and potentially Sony’s gaming headsets in the future. Despite being acquired Audeze will continue to operate independently and will continue to create multi-platform products.

Recently Sony announced the Pulse 3D wireless headset and Senior Vice President of Platform Experience at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Hideaki Nishino said this acquisition will help improve this area within the company.

“We’re excited to bring Audeze’s expertise into the PlayStation ecosystem, building on the great strides we’ve made with PlayStation 5’s Tempest 3D AudioTech and the Pulse 3D wireless headset.”

The exact cost of this acquisition or other details were not released.
