E3 2017 is around the corner and it shouldn’t be a surprise that God of War will be showcases at Sony’s Briefing on June 12th. As we all know around Los Angeles lots of ads go up for games and recently someone spotted a God of War sign going up, but it isn’t 100% complete yet. The surprise here is that of all the upcoming first-party Sony games, it is God of War getting the prominent big building ad: not Spiderman, not Days Gone, not Gran Turismo Sport, and not the upcoming Uncharted standalone expansion.
Now, what this means..well that is hard to say. God of War — bar Spiderman — is the most recognizable brand in the upcoming slate of Sony first-party games, at least of the ones that are expected to release within the next two years. This could very well be why it is getting the big ad treatment. However, this could also be Sony foreshadowing God of War as the centerpiece of the show: perhaps with a lengthy gameplay demo or a release date or both.
It’s going to be an interesting year for Sony for sure.
Stay tuned for coverage
