Earlier this week, the South Park official Twitter account posted a GIF from an episode where Cartman freezes himself to skip three weeks waiting for the Nintendo Wii, captioning the GIF with “Nin-ten-do. I’m coming. I’m coming Nin-ten-do #blizzard2017.” The tweet is embedded below.

The problem with this tweet was that it convinced some hopeful Nintendo Switch owners that the upcoming game, South Park: The Fractured But Whole, would be launching on Switch as well as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. IGN, however, confirmed otherwise with the studio behind the game telling IGN the game “won’t be coming to [the Nintendo] Switch.”
As IGN notes, it was likely just a reference to the TV episode and a poke at the blizzard currently burying the east coast of the United States. The South Park game was initially delayed past its original first-quarter planned launch, now slated to land after April 1. If we learn more, or if stories change, we’ll keep you updated.
