Following the game’s official reveal back during Square Enix’s E3 press conference last year, developer Crystal Dynamics had a big order to take on when sharing that the team will be tackling Marvel’s most notorious group of superheroes. Even disclosing that additional help will be provided from Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal – which previously worked on Batman: Arkham Asylum – the project did hold to be promising.
However, despite the game’s initial potential with the amount of effort that is in-store, users online feel underwhelmed with the gameplay demo presented at the time and still share the same feeling to some extent well into 2020. With a beta for the game already shipped for PlayStation 4 users, perhaps the user base might get a change of opinions with the game finally in their hands.
Additionally, developer Crystal Dynamics also shares that add-ons for the game is also subjected to take place to continue throwing new and fresh variety into the title for players looking for more vigor if the base game is not enough. In that, the firm revealed that Spider-Man will be arriving uniquely to at least PlayStation 4 in early 2021 for free: presuming the next-generation version for PlayStation 5 will receive the add-on simultaneously if it ships before then.
In a recent PlayStation Blog, Crystal Dynamics Associate Art Director Jeff Adams discloses some details on the project. Sharing his own personal connection to the marvel hero, Adams elaborates that Spider-Man coming to Marvel’s Avengers will be an eccentric addition to diversify the already unique cast of superheroes.
Spider-Man’s impressive acrobatic abilities will complement the experience, allowing you to seamlessly transition from navigation to combat. When Spider-Man takes on evil-doers, he’ll do so fluidly with his signature flair; but also, with the enhanced customization options we’ve created for Marvel’s Avengers.
In addition to the webhead’s transition to Marvel’s Avengers, Crystal Dynamics was pleased to share that the superhero will also be included with a suit design reflecting on iterations of the early comics, but spinning to bring a new arc to the iconic webslinger. “Fans can expect to see Ditko and Romita’s influence in our take on the hero, with nods to other talented artists that have defined the character’s look over his long history.
Elsewhere recently, Crystal Dynamics shared that Hawkeye will also be an added DLC hero following the game’s release. You can read the full report by heading here.
