Splatoon 3 is receiving free update on Switch and Switch 2 on June 12

Nintendo made a surprise announcement today for Splatoon fans by announcing the first-ever Splatoon spinoff with Splatoon Raiders. They also announced that a free update is coming to Splatoon 3 for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The free update for Splatoon 3 features the Splatlands collection, consisting of new weapons from the Barazushi and Emberz brands. These new additions have brand-new looks with different special and sub-weapons. There will be a total of 30 new weapon kits in this collection.

A returning stage from the original Splatoon on Wii U, Urchin Underpass, will also be added to the Splatoon 3 stage rotation.

Splatoon 3 on Switch 2 will have more detailed visuals and a smoother appearance in locations such as Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Nintendo also confirmed Splatoon 3 players will be able to play together across Switch and Switch 2.
