The conversation of if Ubisoft has an upcoming title for the Splinter Cell franchise continues as recent news have surfaced circulating around concepts for an unannounced title(s). Recently, former Assassin’s Creed developer Jade Raymond states to have worked on some designs for the Tom Clancy series.
Raymond recently spoke with GameReactor where she discussed her career up to this current point following her departure from EA Motive earlier this year. Mentioning some subtle hints towards the unannounced project from the Toronto-based studio as well as talking about her previous work when part of the team at Ubisoft. At one point of the conversation she tells the videogame outlet that:
“there’s a design we [Ubisoft] actually had and worked on that we would have wanted to make.”
Following up on her statement, Raymond diverts the conversation by commenting that she shouldn’t discuss the concepts as she’s not part of the studio anymore. However, looking over what she said seems that if she’s cautious about discussing the designs, there’s a good chance the work could be used towards something the developer has set to announce. Though this is just speculation, the likeliness is more probable to happen resulting from her realization.
Previously it was discovered from both Amazon Italy & Canada that a Splinter Cell title was in the works, along with Wal-Mart Canada’s notorious leak weeks before this year’s E3. Even one of our sources back in April told Rectify Gaming that a Splinter Cell title will be under Microsoft to market in the near future. With still no confirmation from Ubisoft regarding if a new title is or isn’t in development, we can only be patient until most likely E3 2019 for the unannounced game’s debut.
