UPDATE: Yesterday’s usual This week on Xbox shows Major Nelson’s dashboard with Spotify running on background. The Verge reported Microsoft was running Spotify for testing on Xbox One, and it seems like its launch is imminent. We believe Xbox and Spotify are teaming up to announce this news at Gamescom later this month.

Original story: Spotify, the most popular streaming music app in the world, is making its way onto Xbox One after being exclusive to PS4 and PS3 for the past two years, sources tell The Verge – “Spotify app for Xbox One is coming soon, and is currently being tested internally.”
Earlier this week, Major Nelson was spotted using Spotify for Xbox One quickly giving fans hope Spotify would finally arrive on their console of choice. Spotify launched on Windows Store back in June as a desktop version and not as Universal Windows App. We should be hearing more from Xbox, and Spotify very soon, perhaps at Gamescom in two weeks.
